Lionhead goldfish are a fancy, dorsal-finless variety known for their stout bodies, deep chests, and a prominent, raspberry-like head growth called a "wen," resembling a lion's mane, which develops on their head, cheeks, and gill plates. They have a relatively straight back (unlike Ranchus, which have an arched back) and come in various colors like red, white, calico, and black, thriving as slow-swimming, peaceful fish in calm, well-maintained coldwater tanks with other fancy goldfish
