Dracaena variegatus is not a true aquatic plant, and in the wild it is found in marshes, bogs, and areas that regularly flood. They may adapt to underwater survival for a time, but kept totally submersed long-term, they will eventually need replacing. As such, these decorative plants are best maintained in open-topped aquaria or paludariums where they can grow partially submerged, or just above the water line where the roots will trail down and take up nutrients from the water. Propagated from cuttings.
